2 FACEDBOOK FOR SCHOOLS
Internet Safety: Delivering a vital message through comedy. Addressing issues such as cyber bullying, sexting and chat room dangers.
This show has now been performed in front of over 30,000 young people and most of the schools I have performed at now have built my show into their calendar and have me back at least twice a year.
BBC CEOPs and Childline have just increased their push to raise awareness of child safety on the net... the more that see this show the better. Many parents are also struggling to address this problem, they just don't know how to approach these issues with their kids.
Show figured to appeal to ages ranging from 10 - 24 yrs old's.... lets get it into more schools and youth groups.
this is me on BBC Breakfast talking about sexting.

Heres what the schools are saying:
Your show was absolutely what our Sixth Form needed. If we had spent two days planning we could not have had a presentation which hit the nail on the head as well as Jools’ session. His material is current and speaks to Sixth Form students in a language they understand but gets across a vital message.
Mark Instone, Assistant Headteacher, Princes Risborough School
An absolutely outstanding show which hits the nail directly on the head. I recommend this to any school as a vital tool in addressing some of the most difficult issues we are currently faced with as teachers and mentors. Jools delivers his show in a way which the pupils really relate to and the feedback was very positive. We will now be working towards building him into our annual schedule. Funny and hard hitting, fun and yet very focused.
Kate Thomas, Head of Sixth Form, Crickhowell High School
‘4th time I’m seeing your show and it’s still funny...’ The show which I take into schools is based on the very successful Edinburgh Comedy Festival show but adapted specifically for the PSHE requirements. There are three basic versions specifically directed at 3 school age groups.
Click here 'END CYBERBULLYING' on FB
Show 1. Primary.
Show 2. Secondary (11-14 yrs old.)
Show 3. Later secondary / Sixth Form, college & youth groups.
Each show/ presentation normally takes 1 hour. Add around 45 minutes more to add workshops and break out groups if required.
Show 1:
A Dave Gorman style comedy PowerPoint show using a projector and laptops.
The show is directed at younger children who have exposure to the net either directly or through their peers. I concentrate on Cyber Bullying awareness and prevention, being aware of internet stalking / grooming and the dangers of revealing too much information about yourself on the net. I have permission to use the government funded Facebook page (End Cyber bullying) & videos.
Show 2.
A Dave Gorman style comedy PowerPoint show using a projector and laptops. In this show I use the audience phone interactive element if appropriate and agreed by the teaching staff.
Children by this age are far more internet aware and are usually actively using a number of platforms and applications. This show concentrating more on chat rooms and networking sites and sexting. Managing their own privacy settings properly, and how to avoid and address Cyber bullying.
Show 3.
A Dave Gorman style comedy PowerPoint show using a projector and laptops. In this show I use the audience phone interactive element if appropriate and agreed by the teaching staff.
This show is very close to my acclaimed Edinburgh Festival show and centres primarily on Facebook. It looks at the way we use the internet to manage our own identities and how easily others can use it to deceive you. It addresses cyber bullying, sexting and internet stalking. It also examines the way Facebook has altered our behaviour within our relationships and peer groups.
Who am I?

Ever since I joined Facebook I’ve had an interest in how people are presenting it on stage. I bumped into Jools Constant, whose show this is, in a bar and he thanked me for a review of one of the other shows he is doing, The Comedy Manifesto. A bit later I thought “How the hell did he know who I was?” Then I realised we are leaving so much information on the web about ourselves that knowing my name it was probably quite easy to find my face. At which point I definitely wanted to see the show.
Presented as a lecture and PowerPoint presentation and using at least three lap tops it starts with the unusual instruction not to switch off mobile phones. In fact some of the show depends on the audience adding Constant as a friend on Facebook and writing on his wall.
The show has its origin where as a practical joke he invented a character, Martin Walters, who attended a school in South Wales. Within two months this non-existent character had 59 friends. Then people started to remember him and he got an invitation to a school reunion. He tells of how easy it is to make people believe something just because they have read it on line.
However with over 500 million Facebook users I don’t think he is going to be short of an audience for this witty and informative show.
